Queen’s University Style Guide

I downloaded the Queen’s University Style Guide a couple of years ago and generally share it with my class.  It’s a PDF document that helps students with lots of the little grammatical problems that can sometimes trip them up. Things like this:

affect/effect Often confused. Affect is a verb, effect normally a noun. Your decision will affect me. This is the effect it has had on me. To effect change.

Grammar resources

It looks like grammar is coming back in a big way, according to the National Curriculum drafts anyway. This blog post from Shelly Terrell lists some nice online resources for supporting the teaching of grammar.
