I downloaded the Queen’s University Style Guide a couple of years ago and generally share it with my class. It’s a PDF document that helps students with lots of the little grammatical problems that can sometimes trip them up. Things like this:
affect/effect Often confused. Affect is a verb, effect normally a noun. Your decision will affect me. This is the effect it has had on me. To effect change.
